**ECU issues with knock sensor error**

hi mates, recently i got chance to buy a JDM spoon ecu cheap.
it's a genuine thing, whole unit not just the chip...
the thing is a short type obd1 jdm ecu while my factory del sol's is a long p30.
swapped it out for a play, the car runs perfectly and very powerful except a signal showing knock sensor issue.
pbly the spoon ecu is based on p28 or sth WITHOUT knock sensor function,
just wondering if anything can be done to eliminate the problem.
some re-wiring needed? don't tell me to unplug the cluster bulb tho lol
    any comments appreciated.

    cheers

your CRX should have a knock sensor so if your ECU has the knock PCB in it and knock is enabled in the ECU then you should have no problem

if yor ECU has knock disabled then you should still have no problem.

if your ECU has knock enabled and your knock sensor is faulty then you will get the engine lamp on with code 23 registered inthe ECU

what problem are you actually having ? engine lamp on ? code 23 in ECU ?

if you have knock enabled in the ECU and no knock sensor your ECU will need to be modified to disable the knock sensor. ( PM me as I can do this for you )

Also jus remembered the OBDI CRX 1992 to 1995 dont have a Knock sensor so if your ECU has knock then you will get code 23

yea mine is a early built del sol
my mechanic told me that it has a gen1 b16a2(?)
that means vtec engagement is controlled by rpm signal instead of knock sensor signal(?)
he told me that it can be distinguished by the green plug in dizzy

VTEC will rely on RPM and Manifold pressure, vehicle speed and throttle position and engine temp to allow VTEC to engage

your ECU needs to be modded to have the Knock Sensor Disabled if you get code 23.

you cannot just bridge anything to get rid of this problem

did you read this link http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...3-Knock-Sensor
