K24/20 Frank, cylinder bore

Hi guys,

I have a question out of curiosity (I am not building a K hybrid).
The K20 is 86mm bore, and the K24 is 87mm bore. So what happens when the K20 head is put on the 24 block? Does it have to be machined for that extra 1mm?

I have a feeling it doesn't matter as long as your pistons don't clear the block, and your head gasket has a good seal which would mean your head/block should definitely be decked.
