    B16a With Microtech Ecu Obd0

    i have crx ed9 with a b16 and running a microtech ecu and it runs like its on 3 cylinders ive changed the spark plugs same thing , but they get alot of carbon build up on them and when its driven the car stutters around the place and feels like it wants to take off and sometimes doesnt even rev past 3000rpm ,back fires at times , i only bought the car 2 days ago whats your opinion on this ozhondains tune up or new wiring loom cause the one in there looks dodgy =/ or???

    sounds like it's running on a really bad/rich tune.

    Does it blow any smoke or anything like that? Have you checked the condition of the leads? they might need changing as well. Might be something fuel related as well.

    I'd suggest getting it on a dyno and having it thoroughly checked out.

    I hope you haven't bought a lemon... =/

    the leads are brand new =/ can it be due to faulty sensors? and if the sensor on the extractors isnt plugged in how can u tell if its disabled ? plus roughly how much does tune up cost any tuners out there ??

    i'm in the middle of a custom rewire of obd0 + microtech.

    I think you might find the problem being that obd0 (pr3) requires two co2 sensors, one for 1 and 4, the other for 2 and 3. Microtech ECU's generally only have the 1 input. If the previous owner has spliced the two sensors into one, straight into the microtech, i can't see how it could run well as all readings would be false, so the adjustments would also be incorrect.

    best advice would be return to stock ecu/wiring and work backwards from there.

    did it ever run well? during test drive or anything like that?

    I drove the car today and when i gave it full throttle it drove and went up to about 5k then just stayed at those rpm.

    thats weird... almost sounds like a "limp home" mode...?

    Don't chase your tail with the microtech. return to stock, start again.

    cars gone i was most likely gonna take the route go back to stock

    I was having the same
    Issue as your having now and this post was my issue after installing my b16a2 the c02 sensor was bypassed which caused the car to be laggy when accelerating and often spluttering/fluctuating while idle.

    Lucky I went to an ECU specialist whom tuned me up
    And made my engine stop looking for the c02 sensor which eliminated the CEL light & also made my car normal again.

    Often when pumping the car at 3rd gear I get a laggy pull but I will go back to the tuner for some further diagnostics
