[DIY] Headrest Screen install FD civic

Disclaimer: The following is provided as a GUIDE ONLY, and neither myself nor Ozhonda take any responsibility for the outcomes of someone else doing the following. You follow these steps at your own risk!

Aim: to fit OA 5" screen to headrest
Required: razor blade, marker, screen, zip ties, drill, " dremil tool "
    Steps:

1: I already have had done one.. so im coping that... first mark out the for the screen cradle to fit.. in my case in the same spot as the last one

2: Now u have marked it out.. grab a brand new razor blade and cut out inside the lines you have marked. then peel off the material ( it will be glued to a 5 mm layer of foam.. peel off the lot

3: cut out about 30 - 40 mm of foam for the screen to fit in... if your not sure.. trial and error slowly get deeper

4: Now cut out more foam.. to get the ends down to the polls... as wires have to go through them and the screen is fastened to them

5: Fit the cradle and screen to make sure it will all fit with wiring behind it.. if it dont fit take out more foam..

6: place zip ties around the polls. leave them open read to secure the cradle for the screen

7: Cut the little pins off the back of the cradle.. to give roam for the bulky part of the zip tie to get through

8: " the tricky part " ok now u need to drill a hole in the poll to poke the wire through use a center punch to put a dent in the poll for a place to start drilling... ( you will see why its the tricky bit lol )

9: once the hole is done.. put the screen wire through the cradle and run the wire down the poll...

10: leaving the wire though the cradle but with the screen out zip tie the cradle down to the head rest.. slowing pulling each corner tighter until u get what u want..

11: once it is where u want it push the screen into the cradle and your done

    Comments :

have not run the cableing through the seet yet but i will post up if i have any troubles doing so... but its pretty strate forward

The car i have done this to is a new 2007 civic..

Also not all screens have the same cradle and screen setup.. but i found the option Audio screens to be the best design... also the screen qual is second to none..

    Thanks guys

i hope your projects go well
