What is the difference between gearbox oils.

noob question, what is the difference between gearbox oil and manual transmission oil?

Also would people recommend redline over royal purple if at the same price?

IMO Honda MTF if your engine is in good knick. Royal Purple if you want to waste your money/spend big $$$ trying to protect the box. Redline if it's on the way out.

yep but RP offers a MTF aswell, is there actually a difference between Manual transmission fluid and gearbox oil (i assume there would be, i would just like to find out what it is)
