    Tappets

My car is making yucky noise coming from the engine. Supposively its just my tappets out of allignment. Anyone have any DIY ideas? and is it really DIY'able. hint hint JOHN. Also has anyone had this problem before. Does it hurt ur engine? and how much to fix it if not diy?

    ???

Could be numerous things Sperm man.

Do you need an oil change ? Change your oil with a fresh few litres of honda FEO , and a nice new oil filter. That should tighten the heads movement up alittle...
Next you might need a valve lash adjustment - or the harmonics of a certain engine part might be slightly off, giving a humm or buzz at certain rpms.
Give us more info mate !

mine has a tapping noise and we rang honda and due to the shape of the pistons, an oval shape when cold and then goto the round shape once warm...they can solidify in the oval shape and cause the ticking noise

Well i was talkin to Win about this and he doesnt think its valve slash. Soon as u turn on ur car on (IDLE) you can hear tapping noise i guess you would call it. After warming up it kinda goes away. Umzzz. oil change was less then 5k ago, oil filter under 10 ks ago.

    ok ok,

its really not that hard but if you get it wrong you will be sorry in the long run. there is nothing worse than a tight valve.

I got some tappets to do on an EM1 next weekend so ill do a DIY for you. BUT its a major do this at your own risk if your a nube to mechanical type of work.
