2005 Formula 1 Competition

Ok, well last year half way through I started a competition where you guess the top 8 finishes for each formula 1 race.



Well, let’s make a full season with a points system in place.

Every position you get right you will receive a point



Example:

• Michael
• Rubens
• Juan
• Trulli
• Sato
• Button
• Kimi
• Luizzi

So the above are your predictions of the race and the final placings are:

• Juan
• Kimi
• Michael
• Trulli +1
• Sato +1
• Luizzi
• Button
• Rubens

You would receive 2 points from that round (4th and 5th position were correct) in which would add to your total on a score board (which I will make a sticky)



If you score all 8 points right, you will receive an additional 4 points, 12 points in total.

You can enter anytime in this competition, just incase you miss one race that doesn’t mean you can’t submit for the next.

hmm, yes, similar to my work tipping comp
we have to tip the top 8 finishers
you still get 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 as per championship (is this right?)

then it gets complicated:
2 pts for picking correctly the final position
1 pt for +1 or -1 from final position e.g. Sato finish 5th, but you pick him to finish 4th or 6th, you get one pt

also pts for what we call a 'star' performer, whoever makes up the most number of grid positions, e.g you pick you * as ralf. he starts at 10th but finishes 4th, so the * pts equals 10-4 = 6

we also have pts for qualifying, pick the top 3

double pts and triple pts for rounds as well - last yr double for silverstone and triple for interlagos

(i know it sounds complicated and too hard )

i'm sure someone can put together a spreadsheet which can work all this out once you feed in the final results at the end of each race..?

I'll do the spreadsheet with every Ozhonda's person name in it (that puts in there tips) and all the rounds etc.
I'll be happy to post/e-mail it out every week to people to see what there coming etc.

I'm looking at doing it, if you guess it right then you only get 1 point.
Anything after that it gets complicated and well, thats the last thing i want. lol

So, if you guess that webber is going to come 3rd and he does you get one point and so on. This seem good to everyone? The one point system?

Tips must be in by the start of the race...

yeh 1 pt system is the least complicated for both the tipsters and the spreadsheet guy
