    Help! Eg not starting!?

Well, Basically, I just bought an EG and left it at home to go clubbing one night and came back in the morning only to find that my car didn't start. I'm no real mechanic but I'm kinda on a budget right now tryna pay rego for two cars so i'm not so keen to take it to a mechanic to tell me what's wrong with it. So I figured, for now the forum's best way to go! anyways! Bottom line is, it won't start now! I replaced the battery, still didn't work. I hit the starter motor while trying to turn the engine on, still didn't work. It's a 1.5L Dual Carby Engine. Oil light doesn't come on when I turn access. on. Does that make a difference? Oil is under the meter. I'm so noob on civic's and that so was wondering if you guys could help moi?

what you are saying that the engine is not cranking at all. What you can do is jump start the starter motor.
Look at the starter motor and you will see a black/white wire

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

get a wire connect it to the Battery Positive +, and put it in the place where you took the black/white wire. if the starter did not start than your starter is dead. Also check fuesbox underdash/underhood .

Starter motor is under intake it is the rusty one in this picture
If the engine cranking but not starting, it could be Fuel or sparks
    How to check sparks
If you want to check fuel, you have a mechanical fuel pump connected to the head of the engine beside the distributor(dizzy) with two hoses (1 small and 1 a little bit larger) take one out and see if you have fuel in there.
Btw does the engine crank at all or dead

:O If it is cranking but not starting, check fuel and sparks, no need to check the starter motor.
Honda have a problem with the distributor. If you are not getting sparks, change the distributor.

you dont have to change the whole distributor ... just the ignition coil

same thing happened to me last month - i had ignition, battery was fine, engine turned over and there was fuel - but no spark
all the leads and plugs worked when tested so i replaced the ignition coil and gave the dizzy cap a bit of a clean and it worked =)

Hey, I'm trying to search it up on youtube but nothing really specific is coming up. Is this what you guys are getting as well?
Btw, thanks for all the help! This would be so much better if I knew what a dizzy looked like.
