    Just had car serviced. Notes on mechanic's report - what does this mean?

    "Slight leak starting on LH side of steering rack. RHF check strap noisy"

    It means what it says. lol

    Leaking power steering rack..

    Check strap is the link inside your door that stops it from opening too wide

    I didn't know what a check strap was. Is it easily rectified/replaced? What about a leaking power steering rack - how is this fixed?

    the rack sounds like nothing to worry about . to fix the rack it will have to come out and get reco, and the check strap is cheap and easy to fit , to replace you just have to take the door trim off

    check strap is the black thing bolted to the a-pillar bit between the 2 door hinges, have a look to see if the bolt on the a-pillar bit side is loose
