2011 WTAC launched – the countdown is on!

As the covers came off the two display cars at Parramatta’s Westfield shopping centre, the WTAC countdown clock struck 7. That’s 7 Days. In exactly one week all the competitors of the 2011 Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge will be rolling their cars into garages for their last night’s sleep before the gong for the first morning session goes off at 9am on Friday 5th of August.

It was only fitting that we chose one of the largest shopping centres in the country to launch, what we believe, is one of the best motorsport events in the country. 11 months of hard work, sleepless nights and an incredible amount of stress are finally coming to fruition as we kick off the final countdown to the event.

Pulse Racing offered to unveil their new weapon at the launch, drawing admiring sighs and respectful nods from the crowd. It’s been a well-kept secret, but if past experience is anything to go by, this car could very well end up on the podium next week!

Jake Jones’ wide-body S13 drift car in its new guise proved popular with onlookers, many of whom turned out to be closet drift fans. The Tectaloy International Drift Challenge is shaping up to be one of the greatest Cross-Tasman motorsport battles in history!

Yokohama put on a great display of their latest wheels and tyres and had experts on hand to explain why putting a quality rubber on your wheels is so important.
We would like to thank all the media representatives who have attended the launch, many of whom have already posted their stories on their online outlets.

Let the Time Attack Fever commence!

The cars pictured above are Australian cars, so I'm sure you will be seeing more of them at local events.
Unfortunately the overseas competitors are only here for the World Time Attack event.
