Integra DC2R tyre sizes for JDM 16 inch
Hi All,
After an earthquake and tsunami tried to stop me getting my JDM DC2R factory 16 inch rims, I finally have them!
But now the important part, I need tyres..
My stock ones are
15 x 6 JJ
195/55/R15
And apparently the JDM 16 inch uses
16 x 7 JJ
215/45/ZR16
Considering the final drive is different in the JDM DC2R (or did we get the same?) is this the tyre profile I should be looking for? I currently have 195/50/15 so my speedo is out, this is something I want to fix, so want to make sure the new tyres are at least giving me back a more accurate count.
And what is a good tyre for these? I dont have a huge budget, but dont want the cheapest I can find, so any advice would be appreciated.
Oh, and any ideas where I can get alloy wheel nuts to suit, as like my current factory rims, they take a rounded, not conical wheel nut (so much for my new set of blue Rays nuts.. ).
Heres a pic with a half chinese race-queen
Cheers

So you think 215 will not be right? or is it a price thing?

215 45 16 is stock.
JDM and AUDM FD is both 4.7
I personally would go 205 45 16 because of the price and availability and slightly more stretch look.

as above .. and as for tyres dude try hitting up the group buy that is on atm ..
the prices should be out soon and you may be able to get some good tyres for a reasonable price..

what difference will it make for the speedo? i would have thought the wider rubber was better, more grip

i dont think either of above would make much of a differece.. im running 205 45 16 atm after my DC2R stock rims and couldnt really notice any difference at all..

I was hoping for more grip, I find my cheaper 195 tyres let go very easily in the wet, but am thinking Khumo or Falken, don't think I can afford Bridgestone or Yokohama

just got kumho ku31 205/45r16 for my jdm 16''s
sits perfect, grips like a horny slut
from miata tyre calc my speedo is 0.8% too fast, so if 100kph on speedo im actually doing 99.2kph, no worries
i was gonna get 215/45r16 but they exxy and most are available in semi-slicks, i mean you could try ku36 but its almost twice the price of ku31 and shit treadwear for daily usage..
i rkn ku31s ftw!
naturally i finished my set.

consider z1 star spec? they're really good and treadwear is acceptable (180?)
whats your budget though? missus really likes your nickname btw hahaha.

Hey Guys, thanks for the input, I would have liked the 215 as they are JDM factory spec, but after some searching, can see thats going to be harder, so Dunlop Direzza, better than Khumo? (and pricewise?) was thinkinh Bridgestone, but I am going to have issues going over $200 each tyre, and will be selling my 15's to help cover the cost (unless I can talk the tiger-mother around it) Will need good wearing as I can't keep buying every year, I do about 10K per year,
Anzai, the Miata calculator is awesome, have you confirmed using a couple of GPS's ? I have had Khumo before, but interested in what else is out there
Anyone know where to get alloy nuts to suit?
Cheers, Tseesinngwailo (Mochi, my wife is Canto, its what her family call me hahaha)

either use oem locknuts or gorilla nuts.
