    Car dirty after rain

    Hi guys,
I cleaned my car on Sunday - wash, dry it, then wax it with some kitten brand.

On monday it was Showering abit, and now the roof, boot is all dirty again.

I thought the wax would of repel the dirty rain
All other areas were still shiny

    What am I doing wrong?

advice from an ex-detailer, being myself. the best thing you can do is throw a car cover over your car when it's going to rain.

wax HELPS to bead water so it runs down and off the car body (if waxed properly, none of that spray on junk) but doesn't completely stop water. the reason your car gets dirty after rain is because the water collects dust on the way down, some times more then others.

unfortunately we all suffer from the whole rain straight after car is washed thing and there isn't really anything you can polish your car with that will completely repel water.

mate the wax will only work if you park it undercover

I don't have undercover parking, if its going to rain for the following days etc. I shouldn't bother with washing the car? Let nature do it ay?

Just use one of those good waterless wash kits. Spray on and wipe off, keep wiping with clean bit of cloth (keep turning/replacing cloth).

Wash - Clay - Polish the shit out of it - wax

It will still get dirty, but it will be easier to wash off and keep the shine.

You can get soft-wash types of car shampoos which doesn't wash off the layer of wax.

what you do is wait for the rain to pour, soap up the car and park it outside.

and then hose it off with clean water after the rain and dry it.

and there you have it - a clean car after the rain
