Importing my JDM DC5 Type R

Hi, I've imported my DC5 into Melbourne (from Ireland) and I'm about to start the process of getting it certified to drive on the roads here.

I know what the value of the 2002 ADM market cars are but how much more highly revered are the JDM specs ones? I don't know the differences between them yet but I'm split between finishing off my upgrade path (KPRO and some bolt-on mods) which I have most of in my boot Or selling it and getting a car more suited to my surfing habits!

Also, can anyone recommend a good honda mechanic who can work with/on my car in the melbourne area? Thanks!

    Welcome abourd!

The difference between JDM & AUDM DC5Rs:

    - More Power JDM 160kw/200nm AUDM 147kw/192nm
    - JDM 17" rims (10 spoke)
    - Brembos!
    - Cluster limited to 180kmph
    - Intake mainfold
    - Lighter flywheel
    - Less restrictive exhaust system
    - Higher compression ratio
    - Different cams
    - Higher final drive
    - Thicker sway bars 22mm vs 18mm
    - OEM HID headlights

You might be able to get more for your car (depending if you can actually register it here - hope you researched that)
I'd say it would be 3-5k above the local model depending on condition of the car
It will probably be alot harder to sell though than local models as there are less hassles
But I know for sure you wont have any issues selling the brembo's if you part out lol

Dont know who you can use as a mechanic - I'll leave that to the Melb boys

    Is everyone misspelling aboard intentionally?

I'd say you might get a few thousand over a local model, especially if it is white.
