Torque wrench?

Hey guys, ive decided to go all out on replacing my Input shaft bearing which means tearing down the gear box and installing a new clutch at the same time, so this means serious business an no short cuts or guessing....

Im looking at buying one, as in the future i also plan on doing a engine rebuild so i think its a worth while investment of 100 bucks.

Looking on ebay atm, which is best bang for buck? not looking to spend no more than 100 bucks, cheers guys

buy any torque wrench,,, whether its 3/8 or 1'2 inch,,

it all should come with calibration test paper,
once in a while get it checked and recalibrated if necessary ,

i've been using 20 dollar torque wrench from alsi for the last year,, and i have checked calibration on it 3 times at work, and has been spot on

hope that helps, but if you wana spend 100 you're more then welcome to majority of tools carry lifetime warranty these days

it's something good to have,,

i do plenty of headgasket, engine work , compressor etc which require torquing to manufactureres specs,,

but yeah,, no need to fork out shit loads when you won't even use it often,,

buy some good quality ones. that would probably be one of the most important tools you wouldnt want it to go wrong.

if you know the feel,, which takes years and experience no need for torque wrench

yeah but if you anal like me. i would like to torque everything up to factory spec. just see the number makes me feel the job is done right. i dont like room for human error but yeah personal preference.

I've got a Sidchrome one. Gets the job done well. Don't think they're too expensive bro.

I'd love a sidchrome torque wrench lol, I use my mates kinchrome one, gets the job done.

Friend bought it for me for my 21st.

You don't really need it. Just need to know in your mind that it's not too tight. Usually 1/4-1/2 turn after it starts to grip properly. But it's useful when you want to be precise with things like axle nuts lol. Otherwise I never use it for much other stuff like suspension etc, only because it gives me good leverage.
