not really, im over 33 paying 4 ctp every years according to my experiences it depends on what car is it for, usually the heavier the car (eg..van, or bus )the higher the cost.
Also..the more passenger your vehicle can carry the higher the cost of ctp. If you car doesnt have comprehensive insurance usually they charge ctp higher, ring up Nrma if you dont believe me

How Green Slip Prices Are Set

CTP insurance is provided by a number of licensed insurance companies who set premium prices in a competitive market. They may take into account factors such as:

    • your accident record
    • the age of all regular drivers that drive your vehicle
    • the age of your vehicle
    • the type of vehicle
    • comprehensive or third party property insurance
    • the purpose for which your vehicle is used (private or business)
    • renewal or new Green Slip

This is fair, you are driving for the same number of years for a full licence as everyone else in NSW/ACT. Just play it cool, you'll have no worries and you'll be have your full licence in no time

I remember when CTP was just over $100 in NSW - back then I was in my 20s and I thought it was expensive. 20 odd years on and I look at that cost fondly.

Welcome to NSW where everything is expensive

If they want to be an ass, you can fail a blue slip, for having a non standard exhaust without engineering paper work.

Try just wait till it fails for just about any aftermarket modification, blue slips are a bitch unless you know a good place.
