    drilling holes for fender mirrors?

Aight, So I'm planning on drilling out my fenders so I can put the fender mirrors on, But was wondering if I'd have to do anything to the area to stop the paint from flaking or what not? I was thinking getting some alluminium tape (what another person recommended) and raping up the area, then just drilling through (would be horribly anal about placement)
My main reason for asking is I want to avoid the paint flaking, and want to avoid anything else that could happen (no idea what, just wanna be careful, and do it once, do it right)

The mirrors have one bolt, btw.

    cheers

Heat up the paint with hairdryer or heat gun and should be alright

that works, will try to borrow dads drill and bits, and use masking tape then

Masking tape won't take paint will it?
