    Front tyres bigger than rear...?

So my car right now is running bigger tyres in the front than the rear which the previous owner put in. I only found out after my mechanic pointed it out and he said that I would have some understeering issues if i kept it like that, and that i should swap the smaller rear tyres with the front. Front tyres are new cause old owner had to replace them for rwc.

Just wondering if there any any disadvantages in my current setup? Would swapping my rears with the front improve my handling? Car is daily driven, with ofcourse... the ocassional vtakkk

Really now? I always thought that FWD cars should have fatter tyres at the front for better traction as it gets power from the front......

Thats what i thought too; but then again wouldn't smaller tyres in the front improve understeer and allow tighter turns? sorta like a tractor or a wheelchair as crappy examples lol

    Regardless of understeer or FWD.
It's not an AWD or 4WD car, so different rolling diameter front to rear doesn't hurt one bit.
It's not 4x4 status, think of it as "Winter Mode".

I'm running 16x8 with 225/45R16 front & 15x7 with 205/50R15 rear after having 15x7 with 205/50R15 all round, and boy did it improve handling. But me being a mechanic, I have no idea as I only tried this first hand =P
