    new sub amp

    Hi,

    I'm looking at getting another mono for sub. My sub is in custom box is to spec. It's a 400wrms sub at 4 ohm. My budget is 300. I have looked at a few here are some;

    http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/default_en.htm

    http://www.ryda.com.au/Nakamichi-PL1...r-p/pl1300.htm

What else is out there. I'm after a clean power as sub is more SQL then SPL.

    Thanks.

Check out second hand crap on this forum: http://www.mobileelectronics.com.au/...udio-products/
Lots of stuff there. May find something you are after. (not really sure on any model specifics, but that'd be a good place to look for second hand amps )

    hey bru.
there are few tricks with buy amps. A buget is one thing.
another is power. power is stamped on the amp but its not always the true power of the amp.
so your looking at a amp with say 1000w and is a 4channel. check the settings to see if both sides have a have a low pass filter. if only one side has one you cant use both sides for subs.
To see true power of an amp. you need to cheak the specs... 1000w is showing the power but the true power is written in wrms (sorry if i get these letters< wrong im half asleep).
So look for the highest wrms amp and youll be buying the best power you can.
pm me with wat your looking at doing with your ICE.
I have my civic sponsered with pioneer. so can get some gear a lil cheap.
ps sorry if ive missed out words n sht. myphone wont let me scroll through.the msg

    500w @ 4ohm, 900 @ 2ohm or 1ohm, great if you get a second sub.

Ye I know about all the true power stuff. It also comes down to the distortion rate, the lower distortion rates are better I have used a steg 250 packed a punch and extremely clean power. So I'm trying to base my next amp on that, the amp was a mate's amp.

Ye I have looked at that amp. I was at autobarn the other days and they actually replaced the above amp with the hertz one I am looking at they said basically that the hertz amp ran the sub better then the Kenwood.

They were comparing the above hertz amp to an alpine mr500 without the price tag.

What model Hertz amp? If you can get your hands on a Hertz amp that does 400w+ @ 4ohm for a good price, just grab it, great gear.
