Sat in one today in the dealership, didn't get a chance to drive it though.

Interior build quality did feel really nice though, far less grey and plasticy compared to the 8th gen.

Impressed so far, just disappointed at the bodywork resembling a camry

Yes it was about $27,500 in the mid-90s, plus another $2,000 or so if you wanted the optional air conditioning. But remember that import duty was 30% 18 years ago.

This might have been asked before but does the US 4-door Civic Si grill fit our Civics here? The shape looks the same. I know the coupe grill is completely different.
The black honeycomb ones look a lot better than the chrome one we get.

It actually does not look much different to the 8th Gen even the inside is very similar, like I said before I only hope its rides better than the 8th.

drove mine to margaret river and back from Perth last weekend, 5.4L/100km, average probably 95km/h. so that was 800km from 43.5L... must have still had about 100km it could have run before fully dry.

However I'd already driven about 20km past when it said 0km remaining :P

tested this new civic (my friend's VTI-L),
    interior : no significant improvement
exterior: disappointed, similiar like honda city
    handling: no significant improvement
    price : good (vtil-L auto : 27K)
overall : totally agree with US critics
"With the latest Civic, Honda has gambled that moving away from sportiness and towards quiet comfort will suit its buyers. Honda hasn’t hedged its bets into the boring realm of the Toyota Corolla, but it’s certainly an unadventurous effort. Aside from being quieter and more efficient, the new Civic doesn’t represent improvement as we define it. The Civic lacks the passion, soul, and entertaining driving dynamics of its predecessor. Mainstream buyers may not care, but enthusiasts surely will." - Car and Driver
