I'm looking forward to the 'Earth Dreams' motors when they come out. I hope they introduce them into the Civic, without making people wait for the next generation.

Honda can't make people wait for more advanced motors, especially when the competition is surging ahead...

    Time will tell I guess.
They promised they'll improve the new civic after a ... lukewarm (read: disappointing) reception in the US.... I can now see why.

i had the launch last monday, and have a detailed training session at honda tomorrow. I am reserving my opinion at this stage. TBH im not as excited as i was when the 8th came out.

I guess illl have to wait to drive it...

the new audio system and interface is my only fav part of the car.
im not biased, i just tell it how it is.

    hmmm...

If they're US made will they be more expensive due to the extra freight than getting them from thailand?

and if it was designed and built int he US.. does that make it an american car rather than a japanese car?

The Civic Sedan was dropped from the Japanese market a little while ago. There wasn't enough demand there for it.

i wouldn't personally buy the new civic, doesn't compare to the older civic models in styling. Cant get past the FD, EG, and EK styling.

It's about time the new model arrived. The Civic is not what it was in the EG days (shame). This will not stop me from seriously considering the 9th Gen. I have an EG it's a great car, I need something modern (e.g. improved saftey). I've driven the 8th Gen Sport and VTI-L, the 2.0 didn't seem much of a jump over the 1.8 engine wise. At the time I had tested of the BMW 1 Series 120d. The BMW was a better car, I couldn't justify paying the extra, the 8th Gen stood up very well. The 9th Gen VT-L has a good spec for the price combined with Honda reliability and engineering. Have a look at Corolla and see what you get for the price.

So will there be a special order option to order the sport in manual?

Kinda defeats the purpose of calling it "sport" hey...
