yeah there is this guy that lives around my area he did it to his type r. I thought it was funny too, but when i ask him he said he pur one in so yeah, type r dont have stadnard factory sunroof
didnt even know there was a limited edition, its wierd tho because when i 1st bought my civic(eg hatch) it had a limited edition sticker on both sides near the front..
all i know is that the limited edition came with side skirts and rear pods like what faijai said. sunroof is not standard on ITR and was a factory option to be done by one of the contracted sunroof installers over here in oz. my 99' itr had all of these options but was not a limited edition so i guess u can get these limited edition parts for ur car from honda.
Basically - yellow with yellow recaros.... black with red recaros...
Limited edition came out with the 01-XXX
Also the black is not called starlight black... but nighthawk black.
i thought black w/ red recaros was jus an option.. and the 01-XXX is jus the model number in the production line in that year isnt it?... unless mine is special ed..? haha doubt it
I don't have a Limited Edition DC2R but I do have a fully optioned one...
- 01-XXX is just the number for 2001 model DC2R's and does not mean ltd ed.
- Yellow recaros came in ALL yellow 2001 DC2R's and does not mean ltd ed.
- Sideskirts and rear skirts some ppl are mentioning is "optional" and does not mean ltd ed. (I have these optional OEM skirts on my car)
- Sunroof does not mean ltd ed. It is factory dealer option.
I'm pretty sure the only differences between "Limited Edition" and "Standard" is that you get some of those optional items for free for the same price as standard. So things like the pedals and other things. They were available to buy only for a few months, I think at the end of 2000. There are no mechanical differences, only cosmetic ones... I hope this clears things up.
