What are these patches of white inside the bonnet ?

    Hi everyone.

    2006 Accord Euro (Standard) .

I've noticed a large patch of dried white spots inside the bonnet. Can someone possibly suggest what they might be ? Should i be concerned ? Sorry i'm not too technical.

The patches are around the battery and adjacent pipes. Other parts of the bonnet (like the power steering hose, or pully for e.g. are free of them)

They do look like they were once upon-a-time in liquid form, but they are dry now.

If i rub the white patches with finger, they come off as powdery.

Nothing else comes to mind. Car is used frequently. Haven't felt much difference.

Fact : 1 month ago i opened the bonnet and ALL was clean

Fact : the only thing i can recall in the last 1 month was a Hanny's minor service. I do recall they said the battery terminals had some "rust" and i did see them try to clean those rust with some form of spray. I don't know if they dried it or not (i presume they would...)

Here are a few pictures i took of the bonnet just then,

When they called it rust, they were being a bit patronising. Battery terminals can corrode which forms a solid white powder on both the battery terminal itself and on the cable clamp. Can't say for sure, but whatever they sprayed it with seems to have blown it all over the place, or it may be the residue from the spray itself.

I'd take it back to them since it's only appeared since their service.
