    ED/EF Headlight Covers - S1 vs S2

I bought a set of headlight covers a month or so ago from this forum, from Ram.

I found another set at a wrecker the other day. Came off an S2 sedan.

But check out the differences between the two.

The upper one is the one I got off Ram. As you can see its longer at the top, and goes all the way over the headlight, screwing into a hole on top.

The lower ones are held on by some clips and only cover the glass itself.

The overall shape is veeeerrry slightly different. But not by much. They have some numbers, what if assume to be dates. The longer at the top one has 91 on them and the ones with clips have 93. I will confirm tomorrow but.

    Any ideas??

I pulled these of my ED civic, although one of mine was smashed up from a bird from previous owner, but ED takes the one with the clips.

    Was yours facelift or prefacelift?

Let us know how you go when you test fit it.

One at the back is prefacelift one at the front is facelift. The one at the front will slide straight on and hold itself to the headlight, one at the back will need the two metal clips to hold it to the headlight.

The park light on the sedan is longer than the hatch, but i don't think the headlight covers were any longer as a result, not that i've noticed anyway.

Those are also headlight specific, they wont fit straight on if you have facelift headlights and a preface cover for example.

strange, coz the ones at the back were on a facelift from memory.

However, when i tried to fit the rear ones onto my car (facelifted) the metal clips that hold it down actually interfered with the clips that hold the headlight lense to the plastic body.

I also picked up a bonnet protector as well, cheering. Ill run that, and ill run the proper covers, keep the other set as a spare if i fark one up.

    Thanks lads!!!

Yeah i found that too. Then i converted to a prefacelift headlight (runs a headlight bucket/metal support bracket) and the clips worked mint.

You can use any headlight from any Aus/USDM delivered ED (crx/wagon/sedan/hatch) as long as you get the headlight bucket to match the headlight (buy them together)

I wonder if the longer one is off an EF9 or other JDM facelift EF (XT25 maybe)? The headlights on them are longer.
