Vibration and play in gearstick when driving and accelerating in DC2 VTI-R

Hey all, I test drove a 1998 Honda VTI-R with 190,000km today which I had put a deposit on previously.

I noticed that when accelerating that the gear stick vibrates and moves when I apply the accelerator, is this normal to this car? The dealer ensured me that it is normal in VTEC engines. Can anyone confirm this?

So just occurs with the age of the car? Nothing serious is it, just a bit of an annoyance?

How much do they cost to replace?

Yeah they wear out cause car is a revver so a lot of engine movement over the years and the stock mounts are rubber so wear out. Probably cost you about 350 to replace with used OEM or 500-600 with solid mounts whiçh will hold the engone very tight but cause alot of vibration

Getting nothing like this in my '00 type r. However, have experienced it in other cars and in some of these it is considered normal.

That's reassuring, so something like this wouldn't suffice? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/H22A-94-0...item19cd462fa6

if ur buying it from a dealer, i assume its coming with a rwc....
if so and its not fixed when u pick it up....i would go to a independent mechanic and ask for a rwc inspection....
then ring vic roads and fuk the dealer for giving u a dogde rwc...
