    colour coding prices..

    hey guys,

im looking to colour code my eg sedan. what needs to be painted are the side skirts, front, rear lips and door mouldings. the only problem is the previous owner has sprayed them black to keep them looking stock/fresh.

im just wondering roughly how much something like this would cost me? provided they will have to be sanded and prepped..

I'm guessing $500-600 to paint 6 smallish sections like that.

Do you have the correct paint code?

Would be cheaper if u remove all the door mouldings yourself and give it to them to paint.

Would be between $2-400 depends on who you goto.

Maybe $400 but certainly not $200 if prep needs doing?

ohh wow up to $600??? i was quoted 250 to respray the whole bonnet on my previous eg.. i didnt think the mouldings would cost so much. i could definately take the moulds and side skirts off.. even the bumbers...

was thinking of diying, but i just have a feeling its not gna look as good and last as long.

I'd rather do diy, its all in the prep! When or IF i get my egg I'll be doing all of my diy's on it for sure! Can't wait

bonnets are easy. its large flat surface. moulding that are small require just as much prep as a large size. and overall its just not as efficient.

lips and bumpers generally 200 - 300 if u give it to them... add another 100 - 150 for labor for removal of panels if u drop off the car as ive been quoted from few shops

Cause the cars white, its easier to paint.... im no expert but i find metallic dark or bluish/greyish, are harder to diy, gotta get the correct blend of paint, cause the paint i got at autobarn was too light and not dark enuff so the lip i diy'd looks off..... gotta respray it again sigh!
