    dont have either and cant afford either.

    is there some way i can lock it up?

    yes. for free too.

    use a flat piece of bar (steel or aluminium) and lock the flywheel... like so



    or this for auto (excuse the circle. not relevant to this but already had them uploaded)

    not gonna work if engine in stand
    still very hard when engine on ground.

    only way to do it when engine in stand is rattle gun.

    you'll tip it over.

    I would not recommend doing locking the ring gear as you run the risk of damaging it

    you locked flywheel while on engine stand and removed crankshaft bolt with a breaker bar and didnt tip over the engine?
    damn i need to learn how to do this. good job mun

    btw, is your engine stand is like the red or blue?

    I'm also not using a normal breaker bar. I'm using a special hammer impact breaker. Basically a breaker bar that is designed to be hit with a hammer. But from the top, so force is directed downwards. Tried to find a pic on google but not having much success

    oh ok, i think thats the key in your success mang
    im just using socket + breaker bar + extension.

    i assumed you were using normal breaker bar + socket.
