    D16y4 fuel problem ?

hey guys my EK1 (d16y4) for some reason is eating alot more fuel then usual

i use to get 450-500 out of a full tank now im getting about 250

or let say i fuel up 6-8L got me about 100-125 KM now i get about 45-60 KM

what could be wrong ? i have a intake and muffler but i still ran 450-500 on a full tank BP ultimate and had been running liek this for 1 month but with in the last week it i get very less ?

    thanks !

Is it coming up to temp?

Could be one of any of these things

    Oxygen sensor
    Coolant temp sensor for ecu
Dirty fuel filter or air filter.

i have had a few problem with my cooling system.

my car use to keep over heating like went to max temp. i have replaced my thermostat and the problem has gone.

would the engine check light go on if o2 sensor not working ?

Could also be faulty fuel injection system
Check tyre pressure too. Probably not the main problem but could be contributing

first off, do what trism said and check the air and fuel filter. could be as simple as that.
if you don't know what the fuel injection system is you need to do alot of learning. it would take alot of writing for me to help you.
but to start with, locate the fuel injectors. they are just infront of the intake manifold. check that the wiring is properly connected and that there is no damage to them. check that your battery is good as it can play havoc with the ecu if not at full working capacity.

engine light may not come on if the o2 sensor is simply dirty, or starting to fail.

run a bottle of injector cleaner through a tank of fuel, and then run a bottle of octane booster through the next.

you replaced thermostat, but possibly the temp sender for the ecu was damaged, so doesn't send the correct signal to the ecu, so it thinks its always in cold start mode, where it dumps more fuel in.
