Thanks for the info Ben but too late. Looks like Honda made the mistake.

Bludger, I always take off the fill bolt first in case it is seized up and I can't get it off. Don't want to get stuck with an empty gearbox because I drained it and can't take off the fill bolt! Never happened to me before but have heard horror stories.

Pretty disappointed with Honda. Also the bolts were ridiculously over tightened... Guess I won't be going back to them!
