    Rear muffler sugestions

Hi all, my eg hatch is running a b18c2 with a 2.5 inch system. It has two small resonators and a medium sized rear muffler. It drones through the car badly at highway speeds.

I want to change the rear muffler, I was thinking to a offset Magnaflow or maybe a dc2r rear muffler. I want to quieten it down with out losing too much power if possible.

What size are the dc2r rear mufflers? I'm guessing the Australian ones have smaller pipe than the jdm ones?
Or any suggestions on aftermarket mufflers you have tried would be great.

    Cheers, Dan

I would also go with Magnaflow or Apex WS,something with some reasonable baffling. The oem dc2r would be a good option too

This is a great thread on the size differences of audm vs jdm

Cheers, I did see that thread. At this stage I'm leaning towards the dc2r muffler

its true; i wouldn't get one. but he wants quiet without loosing too much power, other than OEM this would be another good option - if he wants.

never heard it IRL though, only on youtube

and maybe more sound deadening to reduce the droning
    I don't even know anymore.

Thanks guys, I'll give a dc2r muffler a go. Will get some before and after dynos so I can see how much power I am losing.

If it loses too much, I might have to look into a Fujitsubo or Mugen system.

Doubt more sound deadening will help much, the drone at freeway speeds is deafening. Its only when cruising, under power its not there. Might just have to drive flat out everywhere.

dc2r muffler will not fit and needs major mods to fit

    you need a ek9 or ep3 muffler

Is it just the pipe? Or the muffler is too big to fit under the floor?
