    (CL9) treadwear rating vs noise

    Gday all,

Some think probably going over old ground, but i don't think so...
I am after new tyres.....i know, many threads been done, but the Bridgestone Potenzas currently on her only have a treadwear rating of 140, and traction of A....
Seen tyres on ebay with treadwear rating of 300+ and traction rating of AA...
They should logically be a bit noisier, just wondering others experiences?

Not really after my tyres are wicked comments folks!

I don't know what my OEM Dunlops SP Sport 2050a treadwear ratings are, but I know my Conti CSC3 are rated 280, traction AA, and their definitely louder than the Dunlops. Having said that the Dunlops were 16s and the Conti's are 18s so that might have something to do with it. In general though, the greater the grip the louder it is, or so I read in Wheels mag quite a while back. I reckon the type of rubber, that if it's a soft compound or a harder one makes more of a difference.
