Possiblity damaged engine due to Over revved

Hi guys I was driving my dc2r on freeway few days ago and i was stupid enough to downshift(going approximately 80-90km/h) to 2nd gear while I was on 3rd gear and the engine rev up to 9k Rpm and now I'm paranoid that my engine is stuffed now.

The engine RPM only reached to my rev limiter(up to 9k Rpm) and As soon as I hit 2nd gear i quickly changed it back to 3rd and now Im scared I've damaged my valve springs or so. After this incident, I've havnt heard any strange sound but what possibilities of damages to the engine I have done?

if it runs fine without weird sounds then it probably is fine. Just watch the basics like your oil and fuel consumption.

As long you have sufficent amount of oil in the engine you should be fine.

cheers for the replies everybody. Sorry Im just very paranoid. But lets say if I downshifted and it over revved to 10k then that's when its a big concern right? Sorry its a first time experience and I'm a car noob ><

If it's still driving, it's fine. At least you'll be more careful when downshifting now.

Seriously, hold your horses cowboy.

Just act as if nothing happened. You can't turn back time. Any damage done was minimal, as you shifted up. I even did this once when I had a b-series.

Your car will be fine. Maybe change the oil if you are paranoid.

Im trying to know why you are so stressed.

maybe you read about how the last generation Celica engines (1.8- 141kw) would pretty much blow up if you did that... apparently the oil pump would disintegrate
