    [CL9] Hood Lining

I was contemplating whether to remove the hood lining off the inside of my bonnet but not sure if it will have any negative effects. Such as paint damage.

Has anyone removed theirs and can you share your experiences? also do u recommend removing it?, and is there any advantages in doing so or it dosent really make a difference.

    Thanks

If anything, I would have contemplated adding more hood lining to the car. I dont think there will be any negative impact other than a slightly louder noise coming from the bonnet.

It's there to reduce noise and insulate the heat, apparently excess bonnet heat can make your paint deteriorate faster.

I don't get the reason why you would want to remove it in the first place?

compared to a gray and crusty lining, straight paint looks cool.

but the paint wont last long....

It also acts as a fire blanket should your engine catch fire the clips will melt and the lining will smother the fire out

I would have said bonnet lining, but I agreee with others that the bonnet's paint will deteriorate faster.
