Ideas for Stealth/stock-look sub boxes on hrv.

    Hi guys
Got a four door hrv with a 12 inch sub box sitting in the boot. It's taking too much space really. I Ned to build a box that can save me some space. On my previous car (Mitsubishi legnum.. I know I know) I managed to build a box that sits on top of the spare tyre and covered by the boot floor panel so it was completely stealth.
Hrv has a space saver spare. Not enough space for the stealth box. I thought about fiberglass work but so much headache will be involved.
And I don't like the preamped 6 inch subs.
    Any ideas outside the square?
Now, i will be a honda owner once again..

under seat 10-12inch subs? focal bus range...
Else, i'd say sub box in your wheel well/ prefab/ custom box in your boot is the only real option... unless you're willing to get into the fiberglassing.

Under the seat subs never really give the depth that a real subwoofer will, especially if you want to turn the volume knob to 11.

What i see a lot lately is quarter panel enclosures like this, made from sheet ply/mdf so construction is easier/cheaper, but trimmed to match OEM trims. And the output is a lot more exciting than the under the seat options.

Trimmed and covered with a cloth cover, you know somethings there, but it does'nt stick out like dogs balls like an off the shelf kicker/jbl box you'd see at JB.

    hows that?

theyre both active subs (ie inbuilt amps), saves ya the hassel of getting amps and hiding those also

they are just two options on opposite ends of the price scale

you mentioned about having your sub where your spare sits?

theres a sub designed for just that

good thing bout all the stuff ive mentioned is that they are easily removed if need be

    hope that helps x
