B16 into EG VTI -Confirm my knowledge please ?

hey guys planning to buy a EG VTI (EG5) with the stock engine D16Y1
engine will die soon so im planning to get a B16 that is OBD1 so its easier ??

What would i need ? ive searched but getting different answers

I would need a B16 OBD1 engine with everything attached to it IM,GB,Dizzy blah blah blah

Mounts , Driveshafts , ECU and clutch slave cylinder ? is that all ?

and if i was to run P/S and A/C i can use the P/S running gear i have and all i would need is to get a B series A/C compressor ?

    Pretty much it.
I never heard of changing the clutch slave cylinder though.
And of course you want all your maintenance parts such as timing belt, water pump, crank rear main seal, rocker cover gasket etc.

yes you can use the d series p/s gear..

for the swap you pretty much summed it up

    motor
    box
    im/tb
    loom
    obd1
    driveshaft
    rear t bracket (ek vtir)
mounts ( you can use existing mounts but not rear t bracket )
    exhaust system
    o2 sensor
you can use existing cylinder etc

you can use the existing loom if you cant get the loom thats needed... AFAIK i had a ek d16 non vtec and they used original loom but cut em open for the vtec

    and you need shiftlinkage

b16 complete with loom. plugs straight into they strut tower looms on eg.
    driveshaft
power steering rack to pump hose
engine mount is a must - passenger side
shift linkage (dc2 fits) if its out of a del sol or ek then its useless
    vtec rewired
o2 sensor on d16y1 is 1 wire - b16 is 4 wire. so need to b wired up
b series radiator hose and radiator - as the d16 is smaller. u can run a b series rad hose with stock eg rad but use 2 hose clamps per inlet n outlet on rad. wouldnt be ideal but it works.
b series air con hose - from firewall behind battery and the other hose. the 2 hoses that bolts onto the a/c unit.
make sure u get the map and purge sensors. as del sol with b16 have these sensors bolted on firewall and not on the throttle body.

connecting o2 sensor and vtec links

If you're running b series compressor you'll need ek4 compressor to condenser line + ek4/95+eg condenser, dc2 compressor to ac box line, etc. If you haven't got compressor yet I suggest you get a crv(b20) ac compressor bracket, so you can use the existing d series compressor and not mess around with any of the pipes and wiring and crap.

Get new engine mounts, youll also need a dc2vtir/eg6 rear engine mount t bracket

do a search man, EG5 --> B16 swap is one of the most common.
IMO get a frontcut from an EG6/EG9/EG2 and that will give you all you need.

If you're piecing it all together it will cost a bomb and will take ages.
