4.7fd AUSDM to 4.4fd JDM integra type R gearbox ... which is better for my mods

    hey

ive got a 99 integra type R with 4.7fd and im changing the gearbox to 4.4fd

just wondering what i can do with my cluster to show the right speed
    ?

And also my type R is turbo high compression is the 4.4 better ?
cause i had a 4.7 and it was wheel spin alot off acceleration my turbo is precision 5756 its big but never had massive lag
im mainly doing highway driving and it use to rev heaps .. thats why i went with the 4.4fd

No need to do anything with your cluster

ur speed sensor should control everything , there will be about 5-10km difference depending on tire/wheel size etc

Don't the 4.4 and 4.7 both have very similar revs in 5th gear? The ratios for gears 1,2 and 3 are the same but 4 and 5 are different to balance out the final drive. Combined this gives closer ratios in the 'acceleration' gears and keeps the 'cruising' gears about he same.

Opening up the box and swapping 5th (and 4th if you want) is the way to get lower revs for highway cruising. The 4.4 wil give you longer gears 1,2,3 which may help with your wheel spin!

I'll be putting 4.7 internals into a YS1 case later this year for my turbo, but I need a new final drive so thinking I might go with a 4.4 which would give me nice low cruising revs, should be around 33-3400 I think
