How did your engine die? Are you able to rebuild?

    K20A is the JDM engine.
K20A2 is the AUDM and many other market versions e.g Also USDM

So if it is a K20A it would be a straight fit. You will need an aftermarket or the JDM ecu too though. Then you'll need your immobiliser re-sync.

IMO JDM K20A is over-priced and the only real benefit I see out of it is hard-parking credibility.
Build a K20a and K20a2 with same aftermaket parts e.g camshafts etc. Power output will be similar if not minimally different.

Waste of money, if your after power. Go K24 block with K20a head.

yes... but he's saying that if you're building for power it's a waste of time to spend all that time tuning a JDM engine when you can have a frankenstein instead

Can your head be salvaged? You can use a K20A3 bottom end from a base model to a K20A2 head. Another option. K20A3's wont demand such a steep price.

Dont see why not. Maybe if not same wont be too far off. Displacement is still 2.0 with the all-important hi flowing K20A2 head. [Provided that is still in good order]

Read the threads. There are alot of myths regarding this that will be dispelled e.g unreliabiltiy at high revs, blowing the engine, turns out the guy who did this didnt put any coolant in hence the catastrophic failure. If you want to go down this route.

I dont see a K20A3 engine costing anymore than $1500 and thats on the expensive side.
with the cash you save you can do mods and be even faster than a stock K20A2

Read the threads I got for you.

K20/24 - Expensive, but highest yield of power
Straight K24 - Relatively cheap. I'm running one. Pretty good.
K20A2 - $4500 out of pocket and you are right where you started
K20A2/A3 - Cheapest option, to get it running. Cant say if it will be fast or slow never done one or seen it. yanks with Ep3's do it all the time.

K20A3 Block has weak rods, lower compression ratio , no oil jets, no stock oil cooler, weaker crankshaft..

If you want a weaker, lower output motor go for it.

This would be exellent excuse for a K20/K24 build

^ There you go. I didnt know that. Weaker rods, lower comp pistons and crank. oil squirters look like the primary difference.
