are u telling me i would have to do all that to get the same power as i would with a full k20a2 engine ? i already have aem v2 and a new clutch not looking to put exhaust or anything. would a k24 block and a2 head + k pro tune get me the same power as a full k20a2. coz im gonna be paying $4500 for a new engine
Is your K20a head still in good shape? ie any idea what went wrong with your engine?
If head is rooted as well and your engine is basically throw away without many valuable salvagable parts bar the rocker cover; your best bet is to buy say a jdm k20a mech front cut kit from wreckers and fit that, run the stock ecu supplied and sell off the gearbox, loom, driveshafts, brakes if present to offset your say $7-8k outlay for the mech front cut kit.
If your head is undamaged and only the bottom end seized/grenaded; consider bolting on a k24 bottom end and tune with Hondata Kpro. K24 blocks are widely avail and cheap compared to K20a2 and found in CRV and Accords so plenty around. Many items need to be modded, removed, added etc for this combo to work of course.
Contact Benson or Fatboyz from BYP in this forum for more info I'd say; they have done so so many of the above in various state of tune and budget. In fact a fren of mine is getting a K24 block installed onto his existing K20a2 head right now.
I just wanna no if I do this + kpro tune would this get me more kilowatts then a normal k20a2 and how much would this all cost roughly
175kw atw we are expecting for my fren's build with byp, oe cast pistons and his existing k20a2 head. Torque will be lot more than before of course being 2.4L
With prices you need to contact them as there are too many variables ie state of tune and the components you want to specify etc.
Gearbox remains the same as before and no mod required ie bolts straight on.
