    Headunits Single Din Recommendations

    Good hello,

Looking to remove the double din cd player which came with my car and install a single din head unit with a single din gauge.

Any recommendations on what single din units I should get? Dont need flashy doof doof sick bass brah equipment. Something around $100-$200 with decent sound quality and equaliser is enough.

not sure what decent single din you can get at those prices. ill usually check pioneer/alpine when it comes to head units

    Alpine CDE121EI

Think it's 199 but haggle at JB, got it for 150.

Decent imo, has USB/aux etc useful stuff and looks nice. Only has 1 RCA

Seen a Philips single din motorised DVD headunit in the Autobahn catalogue here in Adelaide for around $250 for what it's worth I was going to buy one highly recommended. Had an alpine single din motorised DVD headunit in my R33 going from the specifications this Phillips one would be just as good I wish I had known that earlier would have saved me a good $700.

i sell car audio gear at Autobarn and with car audio i definitely recommend you don't buy anything philips.. theres a reason why it's cheap. they're terrible quality and break down all the time, we get at least 2 a week come back for warranty claims.

the Alpine unit previously mentioned is a really good unit for the price. Alpine make top quality stuff and for a basic unit that doesnt have too many features but can still handle your iPod, the $149 price tag is really worth it.

could always buy a cheap kenwood or something on for like $100 new.
Else, I've got a cheap jvc headunit if you're interested. It's a kd-g335. Ran my eclipse splits nicely, and it sounded good. only has one pre-out though.
