    about d16y1 head gasket

    hi all people, my car is eg5, running d16y1, now some problems with the head, and i am looking to rebuild the engine. i search on ebay, and they are just selling d16y5, 6, 7, 8 etc.....no d16y1, is that any different between them??

    All the same.

    Use the Y8 gasket. It's a little thinner so will bump your compression/power up a tiny bit.

    Jump on eBay USA and grab d16z6 gasket kit.
    It's there y1.
    That's what I did
    STRUT Saturdays get on it

    how many KMs is on your engine?

    Just wondering how much longer I got on mine haha.

    Take care of it and any D should get to 250,000-300,000 IMO.

    Service regularly, don't overheat it, warm it up properly (drive gently, not idling all the time), good petrol, fresh filters etc.

    Cool thanks for that, ive been servicing it every 5000ks so hopefully I get the most out of it.
