Anyone know the history of this car?

    Hi All,

Am thinking of buying this for the engine for my car, it's a 94 DC2 with ITR B18C (JDM) Cusco Suspension, full SS extractors and exhaust with twin loop, ITR LCA, ITR interior with recaros, and ITB's, it's damn loud which makes me feel old haha, but trying to work out if the engine has had a refresh as the dash (JDM ITR) reads 200K

On the rear bumper around the exhaust, is some smudging of black carbon and oil film, nowhere near as bad as mine, but still there (it may also have been cleaned recently)

It has an EK9 gearbox too (S4C), which makes me wonder why they didnt use the Integra one (S80) Oh, and no power steering or air-con..

Theres a huge list of extras, Koyo radiator, silicon hoses, Spoon spark leads, ASR brace, front and rear strut braces, but standard brakes, guess no-one thought of stopping in a hurry..

    Cheers

Hmmm. Fair bit of black smoke on on the bumper, could be an indication of piston rings worn, or it just could be the car is running rich due to it not being tuned with the mods installed (highly unlikely with ITBs).

Leak down/compression test will be your best indication of the motors health and give you an idea if there really is 200k on the motor.

Does the owner state if it is running stock ECU?

Yes, on the exhaust tip its black carbon stuff, and the black on the bumper is a thin oily film, which is what my car is already doing, but in a way I don't want to let this car pass me as it's got too much on it that would go right in mine, and everything part I take off mine would go in the DC2, keeping it running so I could sell it, just dont have the space to do a part out. Was hoping someone on OH would know the cars history, looks like someone spent a lot of money on parts alone. Cheers Chris

You'd probably have to rip apart the block and replace the piston rings he fried.
