    loose handbrake?

i have a dc4 teg and the handbrake lever seem to be loose. i'll need to pull the handbrake all the way up until it works. is there a way that i can fix this?

remove the handbrake console ( a couple of phillips head screws and maybe a couple of small nuts holding the plastic to the shifter console)
Then put handbrake down , grab a 12mm socket + ratchet or spanner and wind the small nut on the end of the handbrake loose - go for a drive , press the brakes a few times. This process resets / evens out the handbrake bias to the cables and thus handbrake itself. Now , retighten the same 12m nut until the handbrake will snag and hold the car. Do not over tigthen it. I suggest you find a slight incline , use handbrake. On 2 or 3 clicks it should hold the car.
