overheating on track at cool night

Hi there,
i was at the barbagallo track thursday night, very cool night, and my car was suffering overheat.

car is an EG hatch with b18c vtir turbo T3/T4

i am using mishimoto triple cores half size radiator, lower temp themostat, low temp fan switch, radiator fan install at the front of the radiator(did switch the fan direction).

i was still overheating at cold night, summer is coming, i need to do something about it, anyone got any ideas?

i took the Air con out, so there is big gap next to the radiator
and my intercooler cover the front bumper opening

I could get a smaller intercooler or cut some holes on the front bumper but i wanna see of there is anything else i can do first.

Perhaps not enough coolant volume to allow it to cool properly before recirculating back into your engine?

You need to block off the holes to force air into the radiator....

Air simply goes round if it can...

Stock radiators on an EG have rubber flaps all the way round because of this

Exactly. Air will always take the path of least resistance. As you now have a massive gaping hole next to your radiator air is just flowing off the rad through the hole. Instead of through the radiator itself.

DO as above or have a sheet metal part folded up to block off the hole.

Just a point -

Eg civics that didn't come with air con - actually have a block off plate ( a piece of plastic) to force air to route to and thru the standard radiator. So block it ! It's a OEM part - maybe go to Honda with a breeze chassis code (eg3xxxxxxx) and see if you can find something

Or run a radiator that runs the width of the frontal support

will find out next track day,
at least i isolate some of the heat from the turbo and if u look closely, the metal box does block 80% of that gap.
