    B16 Engine swap

So considering an engine swap from my first gen b16a to a b16a2.

    Thoughts?

I'm not too car savvy and will be doing the swap with the assistance of some friends (hopefully) I've checked out the specs and cant really see much difference apart from a slight hp increase.

Now here's for some stereotyping... I'm just girl so some opinions on this matter would be appreciated.

    Not worth it.

    Go find a B18c7.
    Integra Type R DC2 motor.
B18c2 off a DC2 VTIR are ok too.

    For another 10HP? WOTAM.

Get a B20 block IMO. Wouldn't waste time with a B18C2, and for the effort/price of a B18C7 I still don't think it's worth it for the gains you'd see.

    build your b16 head.

Unless your engine is about to die i wouldn't bother with a conversion unless your going to go b18, but even then you would be better off rebuilding your current engine and getting some good head work and an aftermarket ECU.

I'd only consider head work if you have a deep pocket and might go B18 or B20 block later.

Otherwise, having done a head build on my B16A, I wouldn't do it again. I'd get a stock standard B20 block and slap them together, probably for less money. Better results. Probably similar peak HP to the head build but a shed load more torque.

problem with that is you would also have to get it engineered wouldn't you and then upgrade the brakes and etc..?

262mm brakes should suffice, mounting should be the same etc. Yeah it'd be a bit of a pain but still that's the way I'd go if I had my time/money again tbh.

nothing like a tuned b18c7 type R engine, IMO. That said, you should come along on a cruise and see what people are doing, and if lucky grab a ride in a few builds you're considering
