    Dump pipe size?

Hey guys, for those with boosted cars, an street driven, would a 2.25 dump pipe be big enough? considering im only relative chasing 200hp max from my d-banger

Turbo chosen is TD04L, tuning it for 8psi max

Using log Cast manifold, as these are the preferred choice to use to clear Ac/ps, as such with the greddy kit

I have thought of 2.5, but the clearance for ac and ps is always in the back of my mind....

OR will 2.5 be better option?

2.25 will limit the power alot. i would recommend 2.5 min. even if u want to keep AC and PS the 2.5 should still clear it.

Yes try to make all piping similar diameter and only go bigger towards the rear.

I would recommend 2.5", even 3" if you can fit it. I was running 6psi making 130kwatw with a stock exhaust but 2.5" down pipe, upgraded the rest to 3" and that figure boosted to 140+

well atm my cat back is of 60mm diameter, so roughly 2.38 inch, so i figured maybe 2.25, but 2.5 is slighty larger, 3mm bigger, but than 2.25 is 3mm smaller... lol

so what do u guys say? bigger or smaller because of the cat back in question

Upgrading your dump pipe will still net you gains, however best to go the whole way

you do make a point, seen plenty of 180sx, wrx etc etc with bigger dumps an they do yield better results, but than again they are running like 3 inch cat backs an all hahahaha

Atm im more leaning towards to go for the 2.25 as its easier to fabricate meaning less time, less money hahaha, but ive seen a few dump pipes on ebay which ill most likely mod to fit my current setup, which are 2.5 so atm its im still researching up whats a viable option

    cheers lads

If you're getting a GReddy kit with the log manifold...it should come with the dump pipe too

nah piecing my own kit, more of a challenge u could say lol

an plus i have a strong dislike with the greddy dump pipe, its a really crappy design, feels cheap an nasty if u ever seen the dump pipe in person
