Thread: MR 2 SLOW

  1. #1
The other night while i was at the runs this Lancer MR schooled a mr2 for a race. not expecting the MR to stand a chance the mr2 lost by bout a car length.
When the coppers decided to break us up we were driving out to another location when this MR lancer rolled up next next to me he gave it a hit. so i decided to give him a go not expecting to really stand a chance.. but little did i know that out of 2nd i had about 1 1/2 lengths on him..
rollin start out of 2nd same thing pulled him bout 2 car lenghts...
    but my car is stock
Civic vti coupe....no mods just air filter
the Lancer MR had exhaust air filter and god know what else cause it sounded the peice...
to the conclusion should i be beeting these cars by this much?????

....what are the specs for the N/A MR2s? what year model was this MR2 ahblahblah? im thinking the mr2 should have beaten a lancer with those "mods"? also u definitely should be wasting a lancer in ur vti......well ok not wasting..but beating..

A lancer those with mods (+ extractors) can make the same/a bit more power then a stock SOHC VTEC. Gearing of the VTi can help, but i think MR's weigh in a tad more also.
Neverless, its a closer race then u may think.

    A "done-up" lancer...
Lancer's do not go at all, exhaust or whatever. The only hope it has is if you put a turbo in it. Stocky ones with extractors/exhaust are just loud! Why do you bother with it? A vti civic will eat anything of the sort. You should even be beating pulsar sss.
And as far as the mr2 goes, a stock non-turbo isn't very fast at all. I'm talking about the old ones though. The new spyder ones are quick. Plus the mr2 driver would have been pretty crappy if he/she lost to a lancer.
