Fuel gauge doesn't work ? 91 3rd generation prelude

I have has this problem with my 3rd gen since I bought it (the guy didn't tell me when I bought it either).

The fuel gauge doesn't work sometimes the light will come on but the actual level pin doesn't rotate at all to show the level of fuel left, sometime it works like every few months or so.

Every other gauge on the cluster works, just wondering if there are any ideas on how I can fix it and what it could be ?

Thats how a fuel gauge works so somewhere in there is the fault lol
