Need information/ tips for buying a 1993-2000 Honda Integra for daily driving
I am thinking of buying a 1993 to 2000 Honda Integra for everyday use (120kms per day, mostly doing 110kph for 100kms to work and back)
What are the common problems with Integras? (rust in sunroof/ leaks, are there any electric problems)
Wherebouts where they start to rust, what do i need to watch out for when buying Integrasm (amount of approx kms before the gearbox goes, or engine)
How it goes with fuel wise
Comfy to ride in?
I have no idea with Integras and wouldnt mind to own one while my Civic is gonna be my weekend/ fun car to drive around and race in, was looking at Preludes but found out My old Ford Escort (which was gonna be my race car but the condition of it was too special to destory as it was a barn find for me) had it's value increased (meaning I can buy more decent and better cars/ or Hondas )
Cheers !

Is that what you have when you first hit VTEC?
I can't speak for Type Rs, but DC4/2s are very comfortable; the seats are great. Fuel consumption isn't as good as I'd hoped for, but it's not awful. If you have an EK1, you'll pretty much know the drill. Good luck!

Bulletproof if well looked after. I've never seen an Integra with rust problems.
I know someone in SA selling one soon if you are interested. 98 VTiR (VTEC) Model. PM for further details

Common problem with dc2s would be the radio antenna making a large knocking noise when going down other then that i havent had any other issues
-
Comon problem is the antenna. wont go all the way up or down! = knocking noise
Also the rear tail lights gaskets go. So the boot fills with water. Check around spare tire for rust, water
Ive also noticed the sealent used between the roof and body can leak over time. Remove the black linning on each side of the roof and check the condition for rust, splits.

Cheers guys, and with that taillight gasket, does that include into EK Civic hatchbacks? Cause I been trying to find where the water is coming from but can find it and I was tempted to make holes at the bottom of the spare wheel area and dont worry about it.
I am gonna keep my old classic car until this time next year, because this time next year it maybe worth as much as a DC2 Integra Type R

if it's around 130,000ks the top tank on the radiator cracks lol seen like 3 integras with exactly the same problem and yes had the antenna problem too that's bout it
-
definitely the right choice going integra, i used to get 600km out a tank and that was highway/city.
sunroofs leaking is quite uncommon.
if you go for a dc4, engines and gearboxs sell for nothing so even if you did have problems it would be cost $300 for a replacement engine.I do rate the b18b2 quite a well designed engine, always has enough power through the rev range.
the only problems i see with integras is radiator problems, mine leaked before 100k but thats a easy fix.
