    05 Jazz GD...loud engine noise?

    Hi guys,

My partner just bought another manual GD (1.5L) after her first one got t-boned.

This particular one seems to have a problem...it drives fine however as soon as the engine is under load you can hear a loud humming noise coming from the engine area.

I first thought it was coming from the exhaust, but even after placing it back in neutral while rolling, the sound is still there.

You can hear it above the engine revving simultaneously.

It seems to go away on idle and/or when braking.

    Car is bone stock.

    Any ideas?

When you say humming... Is it like metal rolling/scraping on something or different?

A vid clip might help here

under load like going up a hill or revving the **** out of it? maybe check the belts, check the airbox, look for anything out of the ordinary in the engine bay

Check the engine mounts. Common issue that they start to go about this age. Mine did.
The mount that went in mine was the right front mount (looking into the engine bay). Luckily the easiest to get to.

Turns out it had nothing to do with the engine.

    Faulty rear wheel bearing.

    The infamous jazz problem.
