What a cute mini pop filter. I'm no expert but I am pretty sure you don't "HAVE" to. But its best that you should i guess?

I think it's the breather that vents gas out and back into the intake. Don't need it. Just push it away and point it down because it may spit out a little bit of brown gas/droplets

U have installed a small filter to the valve cover. u can connect the small cooling hose straight with out using the hard line.

Not good in the long run to have a breather running off the valve cover.

Hook it up to a catch can or plumb it back into the intake.

BTW its not a 'cable' but a 'breather line' or 'hose'

You should connect it. as a legality its meant to vent back into air intake and be reconsumed by the engine.
So you do "have" to, just like you "have" to have a enclosed/secured pod.
    its just the law.
