Lowering tire aspect ratio on Odyssey tires

    Hi guys.
    I have a 2010 Odyssey Lux.
    Standard wheel/tire fitment is 215/55/17 94V

The car is quiet and drives well but rolls much in corners and is a bit slow on acceleration.
(yes, I know that there are other things I can do for body roll but let's leave that for now)

I want to improve cornering and around town acceleration so I'm considering going to a 50 profile tire on the same size wheels. I understand that this will drop the car's height by about 10-15mm as well.
(I need to keep the same size wheels if I want my lease to pay for tires for the next four years)

I've done the calculations and know that the speedo will read about 3 - 4km/h faster than current factory fitment.
My GPS actually shows my speedo has my car out by about 6% over actual anyway with factory fitment.
The smaller profile will balance this out nicely.

Has anyone else done this to their Odyssey?
Did it make the wheels look too small under the guards?
Would I be better to go for a 225/50/17 tire instead as a 'best of both worlds' measure?

Would be really keen to read your feedback.

    Cheers.

Tyres dont really do anything in terms of body roll, and that small change in diameter isnt going to be noticable with acceleration.

Plus, lets be honest, its an Odyssey, not an NSX...

    lol

But who wouldn't mind a wagon that handles like one

I've decided to go down a different track now and have learnt that what I wrote above will actually make my speedo reading even worse.
I need a bigger diameter tire to slow my speedo, not a smaller one.

No further responses are required guys.

    Thanks

    Hi all,

Found this old thread and have a similar tyre/wheel size question.

I have a 2012 Odyssey with the stock 215/55/17 94v wheels and tyres.

Looking to change to 18x7.5 rims with 235/45 94w tyres, with no lowering of the car.

Using the online calculators, this combo appears to have minimal impact on overall circumference and speedo.

Don't have much knowledge in terms of wheel upgrades. Can anyone see any issues with this change in size? Particularly the 7.5 inch width vs the stock 7 inch width??

    Appreciate any help
